Adding clinical notes

Clinical notes are free-form notes that you can enter at any time during an exam. With a clinical note, you can enter notes for an exam that are not specific to a procedure. Once you move a clinical note to history, you cannot edit or delete it. However, you can add an addendum to a clinical note in history.

To add a clinical note

1.   Select a patient.

2.   In the Chart toolbar, click Clinical Notes.

The Clinical Notes dialog box appears.

 

3.   To attach the current system date to the note, click Insert Dateline.

4.   Type the note that you want to attach to this patient.

Note: There is a limit of 4,000 characters in the Note field.

5.   Click OK.
