Changing providers
By default each time you post procedures to the Chart, they are automatically assigned to the patient’s primary provider as assigned in the Patients module. However, occasionally the patient may see another provider in the practice.
To help you in this situation, you can select a different default provider for the current charting session. All procedures posted during the session are assigned to the selected provider. The next time you select a patient, the work automatically defaults to the primary provider.
To change a provider for a charting session
1. Select a patient.
2. In Chart toolbar, click Change Provider.
The Select Provider dialog box appears.
3. Select the provider that you want to assign all work posted during this session to, and then click OK.
Note: To sort the provider list, click the column header (ID, Name, or Status).
4. Post treatment for the patient.
Note: To change the provider for an individual procedure, you can edit the procedure in the progress notes after it has been posted. Find the procedure in the progress notes and double-click it. In the Provider field, change the provider, and then click OK.
