Setting up procedure buttons

By default, the 24 procedure buttons that appear in the Chart collectively represent the most common procedures performed in an operatory. Each button represents a single procedure code, explosion code, or condition. However, you can customize procedure buttons by assigning procedure and dental diagnostic codes and tooltip descriptions other than the defaults to them. You can also change the buttons that appear in the Chart. Easy Dental provides an additional 41 buttons for you to choose from, so that you can better meet the needs of your practice.

To set up a procedure button

1.   In the Chart toolbar, click Set Up Procedure Buttons.

The Set Up Procedure Buttons dialog box appears.

 

2.   Click the button that you want to set up.

The Set Up Procedure Button dialog box appears.

 

3.   Select one of the following:

·        Procedure – Type the procedure code in the field, or click the search button and select a code from the Procedure code list.

·        Dental Diagnostic – Type the code in the field, or click the search button and select a code from the Dental Diagnostic code list. 

4.   To create the text for the tooltip, do one of the following:

·        To use the procedure description for the tooltip, select Use Procedure Description.

·        To use a custom tooltip, select Use Custom Text, and then type the description in the field provided.

5.   To change the button, select one from the grid.

The button in the upper left corner of the dialog box changes to the one you selected.

6.   Click OK to save the changes and return to the Set Up Procedure Buttons dialog box.

The default code and/or button is replaced with the ones you selected.

7.   To accept the changes and return to the Chart, click OK.
