Attaching diagnostic codes

You can attach diagnostic codes to completed procedures.

To attach a diagnostic code to a completed procedure

1.   Select a patient.

2.   Double-click the procedure in the transaction log that you want to attach a diagnostic code to.

The Edit or Delete Procedure dialog box appears.

3.   Click the Diagnoses search button.

The Select Diagnostic Code(s) dialog box appears.

4.   From the Included Diagnostic Codes list, select the category that you want.

Note: If you select Cross Coded, diagnostic codes that you cross coded in Setting up diagnostic cross codes appear.

5.   Select the codes that you want to use, and then click Add.

The codes move to the Selected Diagnostic Codes list.

6.   To exit and save the changes, click OK twice.
