Viewing messages that have been received

While you are logged in to Dentrix Enterprise, you can receive notifications that you have received instant messages. You can then open Messenger to view any of your unread messages (as long as they have not been deleted). For information about customizing Messenger options, such as how often the program checks for new messages and which users have access to Messenger, see the topic about setting up Messenger.

Important: If after opening Messenger, you close (not minimize) it and then click Yes on the message that appears, you will no longer receive notifications for new messages until the next time you open Messenger or until you log out of Dentrix Enterprise and then log back in. This functionality allows you to temporarily suspend new-message notifications.

To view messages

If the Messenger window is open, a Messenger Alert dialog box that displays the name of the sender and the text of the message appears.

If the Messenger window is minimized, a notification that displays the name of the sender and the text of the message appears above the notification area of the Windows taskbar.

In the Messenger window, your messages appear on the Messages tab. Select the message that you want to read.

Note: Unread messages appear in bold.
