You can view a history of when insurance claims were created, split, resubmitted, and deleted. For a given patient, you can view the history for a specific claim or for all claims.
To view an individual insurance claim's history
With a patient selected in Ledger, do one of the following:
Select a dental or medical insurance claim in the Ledger transaction log, expand the Insurance menu, and then click View Selected Claim's History.
Double-click a dental or medical insurance claim in the Ledger transaction log.
If you double-clicked a claim to view it before viewing the history, do the following:
If applicable, do one of the following:
If the Password - Insurance Claims, Open dialog box appears, user verification has been assigned to the "Insurance Claims, Open" task. Do one of the following:
If your user account has been granted the "Insurance Claims, Open" security right, enter your credentials in the User ID and Password boxes, and then click OK.
If your user account has not been granted the "Insurance Claims, Open" security right, have a user with permission temporarily override this restriction so you can view a claim this one time. The overriding user enters his or her credentials in the User ID and Password boxes and then clicks OK.
If a message appears, informing you that you do not have rights to this operation, your user account has not been granted the "Insurance Claims, Open" security right. To have a user with permission temporarily override this restriction so you can view a claim this one time, do the following:
On the message, click Yes.
In the Password - Insurance Claims, Open dialog box, the overriding user enters his or her credentials in the User ID and Password boxes and then clicks OK.
The insurance claim window opens.
On the Claim menu, click View Claim History.
The Insurance Claim History dialog box appears.
Note: If the claim whose history you want to view has been deleted, follow the steps in "To view all claim history" (below) to view that claim's history.
To view a patient's entire insurance claim history
With a patient selected in Ledger, on the Insurance menu, click View All Claim History.
The Insurance Claim History dialog box appears.
Notes:
To quickly show all claims for all dates,
click the Expand List button

To quickly return to viewing only the claim
dates, click the Collapse List
button

Do any of the following:
To view the history of an active claim, on the Active Claims tab, click the plus (+) next to a date to view claims that were created on that date, and then select a claim.
To view the history of a deleted claim, on the Deleted Claims tab, click the plus (+) next to a date to view claims that were created on that date, and then select a claim.
Note: To view the procedures that are associated with a claim whose history you are currently viewing, click the View button of an entry in that claim's history. The Procedures dialog box appears.
