Before you begin entering information for the measures, make sure to set up the following to suite your needs:
Definitions - Customize the following definitions to attach the desired codes (such as ICD-9-CM and RXNorm codes): Allergen Type, Allergies, Allergy Reaction, Ethnicity, Language Category, Problems, Medical Alert or Allergen Severity, Medications, and Race.
Prescriptions - Add or edit prescription templates to attach the desired codes (such as RxNorm codes).
Dental diagnostic codes - In the Procedure Code Setup dialog box, the setting up of dental diagnostic codes on the Dental Diagnostic Codes tab is not required for the Meaningful Use measures.
Medical codes - In the Medical/Cross Code Setup dialog box, on the Code Setup tab, add or edit the desired AMA-CPT and ICD-9-CM codes.
Note: In the Medical/Cross Code Setup dialog box, the setting up of the CPT-Place Of Service, CPT - Type Of Service, and ICD-9-Modifiers codes is not required for the Meaningful Use measures but is necessary for the submission of medical claims.
Dental diagnostic cross coding - In the Medical/Cross Code Setup dialog box, on the Cross Code Setup tab, the cross coding of dental diagnostic codes with ADA-CDT codes is not required for the Meaningful Use measures.
Medical cross coding - In the Medical/Cross Code Setup dialog box, the cross coding of AMA-CPT codes with ADA-CDT codes and the cross coding of ICD-9-CM codes with AMA-CPT codes are not required for the Meaningful Use measures but are necessary for the submission of medical claims.
Note: The following coding systems are included with Dentrix Enterprise: RxNorm and SNOMED-CT.
