Each time you log on to Dentrix Enterprise, patient notes are hidden for all patients by default. When you first open Family File of a patient with a patient note, the patient note is hidden by default. Afterwards, for each patient that you select in Family File, the notes are viewed or hidden depending on the state of the previously selected patient's notes.
Notes:
Patient notes apply to an individual patient, and you can view them only from the patient's appointment information in Appointment Book, from the patient's Family File, or on the patient notes report.
If no notes have been entered for the patient, the block displays "No Note," and the View button is not available.
Viewing a patient note requires the "Patient Notes, View" security right.
To view patient notes
If the selected patient's notes are being hidden in Family File, to view the notes, click View. (The button's label will change to "Hide.")
If applicable, do one of the following:
If the Password - Patient Notes, View dialog box appears, user verification has been assigned to the "Patient Notes, View" task. Do one of the following:
If your user account has been granted the "Patient Notes, View" security right, enter your credentials in the User ID and Password boxes, and then click OK.
If your user account has not been granted the "Patient Notes, View" security right, have a user with permission temporarily override this restriction so you can view patient notes this one time. The overriding user enters his or her credentials in the User ID and Password boxes and then clicks OK.
If a message appears, informing you that you do not have rights to this operation, your user account has not been granted the "Patient Notes, View" security right. To have a user with permission temporarily override this restriction so you can view patient notes this one time, do the following:
On the message, click Yes.
In the Password - Patient Notes, View dialog box, the overriding user enters his or her credentials in the User ID and Password boxes and then clicks OK.
Note: Because a patient note can contain confidential information, you may want to hide the note immediately after you are done viewing it.
To hide a patient note
If the selected patient's notes are being viewed in Family File, to hide the notes, click Hide. (The button's label will change to "View.")
