If a patient has an extended treatment history, you can display only the treatment and conditions that are related to a specific tooth or teeth on the Progress Notes panel.
To view the progress notes by selected teeth
With a patient selected in Chart, do one of the following:
To view procedures and conditions that are associated with particular teeth, select those teeth in the graphical chart.
To view procedures and conditions that are not associated with a tooth (such as a cleaning, which pertains to the whole mouth), make sure all teeth are deselected.
Expand the View menu.
Note: If the View by Selected Teeth option has a check mark next to it, the progress notes are already being filtered by tooth. To filter by different teeth, you must first click this option to remove this view setting (and consequently remove the check mark), re-select teeth in the graphical chart if applicable, and then return to the View menu. If the View by Selected Teeth option does not have a check mark next to it, the progress notes are currently displaying treatment and conditions regardless of the tooth.
Click View by Selected Teeth.
The Progress Notes panel now reflects the tooth selections, and any teeth that were selected on the graphical chart have been deselected automatically.
Notes:
If Chart is being filtered by tooth, "By Th" appears on the Chart window's title bar to indicate that this view setting is currently being used.
To remove the tooth filter, on the View menu, click View by Selected Teeth (which has a check mark next to it to indicate that this filter is currently being used). You can also remove the tooth filter by selecting a different patient or clearing the current patient.
