With Guru installed, you can open Guru independent of Dentrix Enterprise or from the Chart module in Dentrix Enterprise.
Note: Guru movies and animations will only function if Guru has been installed on the computer (fat client) from which you are accessing Guru.
To open Guru
Do one of the following:
With or without a patient
selected in Chart, click the Guru
button 
on the toolbar.
With or without a patient selected in Chart, on the File menu, click Guru.
Double-click the Guru shortcut icon on the Windows desktop.
Guru opens.
Do one of the following:
If you do not have a user account for Guru, you must create a user name and then log in.
If you have a user account for Guru, double-click your user name to log in.
If you opened Guru from Chart with a patient selected, Dentrix Enterprise passes that patient's first and last name and the patient image id (an internal id that is not visible to users) from the Dentrix Enterprise database to Guru. Guru uses that data either to create a new patient record in Guru or to access an existing patient record in Guru. If you are accessing an existing patient record in Guru that has saved images and playlists, those images and playlists are available for viewing.
Note: The Guru patient database is separate from the Dentrix Enterprise patient database. Although patients are added to the Guru patient database automatically when you open Guru with a patient selected in Chart, no other Dentrix Enterprise patient information besides the patient name is stored in Guru.
