The Summary section overview

The Summary section provides a summary of periodontal information, including perio condition, probing depths, clinical attachment level, average probing depth, and lowest probing depth.

 

In the Summary section information is calculated based on the values you entered for the exam in the Data Entry section. The calculations in the Summary section are made as you enter values in the Data Entry section, so the information in the Summary section is an accurate representation of the information for the current exam.

The information in the Summary section can represent values that include measurements on the gingiva surrounding missing teeth. To include this information, select Include Missing Measurements.

Perio condition

Perio condition lists the total number of teeth and sites that are affected by the following periodontal conditions:

·        Total Teeth -

·        # of Teeth - Lists the total number of teeth for which measurements can be taken.

·        # of Sites - Lists the total number of sites for which measurements can be taken.

·        Bleeding -

·        # of Teeth - Represents the total number of teeth with at least one site marked bleeding.

·        # of Sites - Represents the total number of sites marked with bleeding.

·        Suppurating -

·        # of Teeth - Represents the total number of teeth that have at least one site marked with suppuration.

·        # of Sites - Represents the total number of sites marked with suppuration.

·        Furcations -

·        # of Teeth - Represents the total number of teeth that have at least one Site marked with a furcation other than F0.

·        # of Sites - Represents the total number of sites marked with furcation.

·        Mobility -

·        # of Teeth - Represents the total number of teeth with a mobility measurement greater than 0.

·        # of Sites - N/A – Mobility doesn’t apply to a site.

Probing depths

Probing depths lists the total number of teeth and sites that had measurements taken in the following probing depth levels:

·        1 - 3 mm -

·        # of Teeth - Represents the total number of teeth that have at least one probing depth measurement between 1 – 3 mm.

·        # of Sites - Represents the total number of sites where the probing depth measurement is 1 – 3 mm.

·        4 - 5 mm -

·        # of Teeth - Represents the total number of teeth that have at least one probing depth measurement between 4 – 5 mm.

·        # of Sites - Represents the total number of sites where the probing depth measurement is 4 – 5 mm.

·        6+ mm -

·        # of Teeth - Represents the total number of teeth that have at least one probing depth measurement greater than or equal to 6 mm.

·        # of Sites - Represents the total number of sites where the probing depth measurement is greater than or equal to 6 mm.

Clinical attachment level

Clinical attachment level lists the total number of teeth and sites that have clinical attachment levels between the following measurements:

·        1 - 3 mm -

·        # of Teeth - Represents the total number of teeth that have at least one clinical attachment level measurement between 1 – 3 mm.

·        # of Sites - Represents the total number of sites where the clinical attachment level measurement is between 1 – 3 mm.

·        4 - 5 mm -

·        # of Teeth - Represents the total number of teeth that have at least one clinical attachment level measurement between 4 – 5 mm.

·        # of Sites - Represents the total number of sites where the clinical attachment level measurement is between 4 – 5 mm.

·        6+ mm -

·        # of Teeth - Represents the total number of teeth that have at least one clinical attachment level measurement greater than or equal to 6 mm.

·        # of Site - Represents the total number of sites where the clinical attachment level measurement is greater than or equal to 6 mm.

Average probing depth

Average probing depth lists the average probing depth for each sextant of the mouth. The area contains a column that lists the sextant and a column that lists the value of the average probing depth.

Lowest probing depth

Lowest probing depth lists the average probing depth for each sextant of the mouth. The area contains a column that lists the sextant and a column that lists the value of the lowest probing depth.
