User security rights overview

The table below explains the user security rights that are available to assign to Dentrix users in your practice and what areas of the software are restricted/enabled by these rights.

If this right is selected for the user account...

(Administration)

Password Administration

Administer passwords for other users. It is recommended that dentists and/or practice owners be given rights to all operations, including password administration. For more information about password security, see Password setup.

Utility Administration

Run administration utilities in the Dentrix folder.

(Appointments)

In the Appointment Book module

Appointment Day Notes, Modify

Add and modify the Appointment Book day note (in the top left corner of the date bar when in day view).

Appointment Events, Delete

Delete appointment events (by right-clicking the event and clicking Delete on the shortcut menu).

Appointment Events, Edit

Edit appointment events (by right-clicking the event and clicking Edit on the shortcut menu).
