Adding providers to refer patients to
You can compile a list of providers and practices that you can refer your patients to for specialized services.
To add a provider to refer a patient to
1. With a patient selected in the Family File window, double-click the Referred To field.
The Patient Referrals dialog box appears.
2. In the Referred To area, click Add Referral.
The Select Referred To dialog box appears.
3. Click New.
The Referred To Information dialog box appears.
4. Under Name, supply the following information:
· Last/Referral Name, First, MI – Type the name of the doctor or practice you are referring your patient to.
· Title – Type the provider's title, such as Dr. Do not use a doctor's credentials, such as DDS or DMD, as a title, since credentials appear after a name while titles appear at the beginning of a name.
· Specialty – Select a specialty from the list.
· Salutation – Type a salutation.
· Non-Person – Select if you are referring your patient to a practice rather than a provider.
5. Under Address, type the following information:
· Street – The provider's or the practice's street address.
· City, PV, PC – The provider's or the practice's city, province, postal code.
· E-mail – The provider's or the practice's e-mail address.
· Phone – The provider's or the practice's phone number.
· Ext – The provider's extension.
· Fax – The provider's or the practice's fax number.
· Other – The provider's cell phone.
6. Under Notes, type any notes you want to add.
