Printing route slips

For the current date, you can print route slips for all patients with appointments in all operatories or a specified operatory, and you can print a route slip for an individual patient. Also, you can print route slips for patients with appointments scheduled on your location's next business day or on a specified day.

To print route slips

  1. The routing panel is available at all times while you are logged in to Dentrix Ascend. To open the panel, click (or tap) anywhere on the thin, vertical bar on the left side of your browser window.

  2. Do one of the following:

    • The routing panel shows all the patients with appointments today by default. To view only a specific patient, click (or tap) in the Patient Search box at the top of the panel to view a list a off all the patients with appointments today. To quickly locate the correct patient, begin typing the patient's first or last name, and continue typing as needed to narrow the results list. Select the correct patient to view his or her appointment card under the applicable status.

      Note: If you select a specific patient, only the route slip for that patient's appointment will be printed.

    • The routing panel shows patients with appointments in all operatories by default. To view patients' appointments in a specific operatory, select that operatory from the list at the top of the panel.

      Note: If you select a specific operatory, only the route slips for appointments in that operatory will be printed.

  3. Do one of the following:

    • To print today's route slips or the route slip for one patient with an appointment today (if the routing panel is being filtered by patient), expand the Print Route Slip menu, and then select Today.

    • To print the route slips for the next business day (relative to today) with appointments, expand the Print Route Slip menu, and then select Next Business Day.

    • To print the route slips for a specified day with appointments, expand the Print Route Slip menu, select Specific Date, select the desired date on the calendar (by navigating to the applicable month as needed and then selecting the desired day), and then click (or tap) Print.

    • To print a route slip for one patient with an appointment today, click (or tap) the section header that corresponds to the patient's current status to expand that section, and then click the Print Route Slip link for the patient.

    The route slip appears on a new browser tab as a .pdf file so that you can save or print it.
