Medicaid of California with Dentrix Ascend

In some instances, Dentrix Ascend supports sending Medicaid claims in California.

Important: For extremely unique groups; for FQHC entities only

Electronic (EDI) claim submissions:

  • YES, with CDT codes

  • Payer does NOT allow paper submissions

  • Payer does not allow secondary claims electronically

  • Reports are not the same as the Denti-Cal Dental claims

  • Payer ID 57016 (additional enrollment is required)


Note: After enrolling for EDI claim submissions with Denti-Cal and while you're waiting for approval from the payer (the review period can be up to one year), if you have to send a claim, you must fill out a paper claim. You cannot print a Denti-Cal claim form from Dentrix Ascend, but you can purchase paper forms directly from Denti-Cal at https://www.denti-cal.ca.gov/.
