Customizing the sent claims list view

You can sort and filter the list of sent claims to help you locate specific claims quickly. The view settings you specify are valid until you navigate to another area of Dentrix Ascend.

To open the Sent Claims page

On the Home menu, under Insurance, click (or tap) Sent Claims.

The Sent Claims page provides the following view options.


To sort the list

By default, the list is sorted alphabetically by Date of Service, but you can sort the list by any column. Click (or tap) a column header to toggle between sorting the list by that column in descending and ascending order.


To filter the list

For as many columns as you want to use to limit the number of claims that appear in the list, use the search box of the corresponding column to filter the list. Only the claims that match your search criteria appear in the list. For example, you can search for claims for a Carrier that has "Delta" in its name, with a Date of Service that is within the Last 7 Days, and with a Status of Rejected.

The following filters are available:

  • Patient - Click (or tap) in the Search here box, begin typing the first or last name of the patient who you want to search for. Continue typing to narrow the results list as needed. Click (or tap) a patient's name.

  • Service Date - Click (or tap) in the Search here box, and then click (or tap) one of the following: Today, Yesterday, Last 7 Days, This Month, Last Month, Specific Date (select a date, and then click, or tap, Done), or Custom Range (select a start and end date, and then click, or tap, Done).

  • Created On - Click (or tap) in the Search here box, and then click (or tap) one of the following: Today, Yesterday, Last 7 Days, This Month, Last Month, Specific Date (select a date, and then click, or tap, Done), or Custom Range (select a start and end date, and then click, or tap, Done).

  • Claim Type - Click (or tap) in the Select type box. Select the checkboxes of the coverage orders (primary, secondary, tertiary, quaternary) that you want to search for. Click (or tap) Apply Selected.

  • Subscriber - Click (or tap) in the Search here box, begin typing the first or last name of the subscriber who you want to search for. Continue typing to narrow the results list as needed. Click (or tap) a subscriber's name.

  • Carrier- Click (or tap) in the Search here box, begin typing any part of the name of the insurance carrier that you want to search for. Continue typing to narrow the results list as needed. Click (or tap) a carrier's name.

  • Status - Click (or tap) in the Select type box. Select the checkboxes of the statuses that you want to search for. Click (or tap) Apply Selected. The following statuses are available: Sent, Zero Payment, Rejected by eServices, Rejected by Payer, Unprocessable claim, Accepted, Additional Information Required, Pending, Queued, Printed, Resubmitted, Settled, Attachment Hold, Attachment Error, and Paid.

  • Amount - Click (or tap) in the Search here box; type the amount that you want to search for; and then click (or tap) the Search icon , press Enter, or press Tab.

To clear any filter, click (or tap) in that search box, and then click the Clear icon .
