Converting documents from third-party practice management systems to Dentrix Ascend
Introduction
Document conversion is available for Dentrix Ascend for new customers. This offering provides the bulk, automated conversion of documents from third-party practice management systems to Dentrix Ascend.
Practice management systems
In the following list, verify if document conversion is available for your practice management system:

Ace Dental 22.x-24.x - Document conversion is Available.

You will need to know the location of your documents.

The document folder is usually located on the server in the [PtPics] folder. Note that the documents folder is separate from patient pictures.

Archy (Cloud) - Document conversion is Available.

You must request your documents from your legacy software vendor.

Aspire (First Pacific) - Document conversion is Available.

You must request your documents from ASPIRE.

Aspire will provide the extracted documents. Every patient will have a folder, and the folder name will be a long series of numbers and letters. Inside the folder there is an IMAGE folder and a DOCUMENT folder.

AsproDental (Cloud) - Document conversion is Available.

You must request your documents from AsproDental.

The legacy software provides a .zip file containing the Documents. When extracted, it will have a folder with the name of the customer on it. EXAMPLE: CustomerName-Documents. This folder will contain two folders; one called PRIVATE and another called PUBLIC.

Autopia DWW - Document conversion is Available.

You will need to know the location of your documents.

Patient documents will be found in a single folder for each patient, the numbers on folder reflect the patient's Internal Patient ID in the database. Example Document Path: C:\Documents\[75162-ThisIsAPatientID].

Autopia uses the date CREATED and the Name of the file, for documents. Therefore, if the create date was changed from the original, it will reflect this in the conversion. The Autopia data does not contain any other dates or file names.

Carestack - Document conversion is Available.

You will need to know the location of your documents.

Carestack exports the Documents into a folder. Select the Patient folder in the Blob folder.

Cloud 9 Ortho - Document conversion is Available.

You will need to request a document download from Cloud 9.

Documents are in a directory structure that is the persGUID\Documents\estoreGUID.

Curve Hero - Document conversion is Available.

You will need to request a document extraction and document CSV from Curve development team. Be sure to request the document information as part of the live data conversion request.

The documents are typically delivered as an CSV about a week or so after the live conversion via a hyperlink to download the files. Patient documents are found in the Stored_Files directory.

Daisy - Document conversion is Available.

You will need to request a document decryption from Daisy. When you receive the decrypted files, they must be placed on the server.

Decrypted document files are usually on the server.

DentalVision - Document conversion is Available.

You will need to know the location of your documents. You will need to provide access to your server.

DentalVision documents can be stored in multiple locations. Typically they are found in the \dvwin\document_center folder.

Denticon (Pre-Extract) - Document conversion is Available.

You will need to request a pre-extraction of the document files from Denticon.

There will be a ROOT FOLDER (can be any name) containing numbered folders. Each folder represents a patient's Unique Patient ID. Patient documents will be located in this folder. Example: Documents\123456\SignedForm.pdf.

Dentimax - Document conversion is Not Available.

Dentimax documents are stored within the data, and Dentimax will not help customers extract them. Extracting varbinary data does not work.

Dentrix - Document conversion is Available.

Dentrix must be installed, and you will need to be able to log in during the document migration.

Before your live document conversion, you will need to work with support to extract your documents. You will need to be able to log into the legacy software.

You will need to request a document extraction from Flow. The extracted documents should be uploaded to your server, and then you provide us with the exact location of the documents.

You will need to request the document files from iCore.

iCoreDental provides a document dump, each patient has their own PatientID folder. There is not a path to the document in the database. All Documents will convert with the name of the file on the drive. Example: 12A#341SDG#.PDF—we use this ID to match documents to patients.

You will need to request a document extraction from Neem. The documents provided should be downloaded to a folder our engineers can access, such as your server desktop. Be sure the folder is large enough to accommodate the documents.

The documents will be unzipped/extracted prior to the Document Conversion. The resulting file will contain both a .csv file and a folder of documents typically named All Files. Both the .csv file and the rest of the document files are needed for the document conversion.

OMSVision documents can be stored in multiple locations. Typically they are found in the \dvwin\document_center folder.

Open Dental - Document conversion is Available.

If your documents are stored within the database files, for example in the scandoc table, you will need to request a document extraction from Open Dental. However, if documents are stored in C:\OpenDentImages\, you will not need an extraction.

Documents are typically stored in one of two places. If they are in the database, the files will be in the scandoc table. Or, documents are found in the folder C:\OpenDentImages\.

Scans or emails not saved in the data are not included in a standard document conversion.
