To view a patient's information, you must first select the patient. You can select patients in all Dentrix modules except the Office Manager. You can search for patients by last name, first name, preferred name, home phone number, chart number, or Social Security number. You can also search for patients you have archived, or you can search patients by appointment date, or you can search by a combination of search parameters, such as last name and birthday or preferred name, Social Security number, and phone number.
Note: When you first install Dentrix, no patients are in the database. You must enter patient information manually or through an electronic data conversion.
To select a patient
1. In the File menu in any Dentrix module except the Office Manager, click Select Patient.
The Select Patient dialog box appears.
2. In the Enter Last Name field, type the first few letters of the patient's last name.
Patient names that fit the criteria that you entered appear in the list. Continue typing until you see the patient you are searching for.
Note: To include patients you have archived in your search, select Include Archived Patients.
3. Select the patient's name from the list, and then click OK.
