Patients receiving continuing care due reminders through eCentral Communications Manager have the option to schedule their own appointments online rather than having to contact the office to schedule their exam. Patients simply follow the link on the continuing care email reminder to connect to the Communications Manager's Online Booking tool. Here the patient can choose from several available time slots for their care provider and schedule an appointment time. Once the appointment is officially booked in Dentrix, a confirmation email is then sent to the patient. The entire process is completed in a matter of minutes.
Available time slots that patients can use to schedule their appointments through Online Booking is determined by the following:
· Continuing Care Due Date – No appointment times are offered prior to the continuing care due date stored for the patient in Dentrix.
· Appointment Length – Determined by the Default Appt. Time set for the Continuing Care Type in Dentrix; or, if this is not set in Dentrix, by the Default Appointment Length set in Online Booking Settings.
· Single or Family Appointments – If the patient's Continuing Care Reminder is for multiple family members, the offered time slots are based on the total time for all family members' appointments.
· Provider Availability – The assigned provider set for the Continuing Care Type (in Dentrix), or determined by the Online Booking Settings.
· Operatory Availability – This is determined by the Online Booking Settings.
· Open time slots in the Appointment Book – The first time slot in any available time block that matches the above criteria will be offered (to avoid booking gaps).
