In Dentrix, you can have multiple Continuing Care types for which you control the name, the interval, the provider, and the time required. You can use continuing care to track recall, as well as other due date or interval driven items such as treatment planning, follow-up calls, and collections.
Dentrix comes with several pre-set Continuing Care types to help you recall your patients more effectively. In addition to these pre-set Continuing Care types, you can add or edit to meet your specific needs. You can also delete Continuing Care types that you no longer need.

Note: The default intervals add one day to ensure that you exceed your patients' insurance interval requirements. This helps prevent billing patients unnecessarily because you did not meet the required interval for the continuing care.
If you are new to the Dentrix system, you may choose to begin by using only a few of the pre-set types. This will help you to learn how continuing care works in Dentrix. Then as you become more familiar with the process, you can expand your use of continuing care to include the other pre-set types and even add your own Continuing Care types.
