Receiving a lab case

When a case returns from the lab, you can use the Receive Case dialog box to record the details.

To receive a lab case

1.   In the Lab Case Manager, click Edit, and then click Receive Case.

The Receive Case dialog box appears.

 

2.   Do the following:

·        Received Date – Default is the current date. To change this date, select one from the calendar.

·        Received By – Click the search button, and select a provider from the Select Provider/Staff dialog box.

·        Received From Method – Select the appropriate shipping method from the list.

·        Lab Fee – Type the amount of the fee. The running balance for this lab appears.

·        Lab Assigned Case # – Type the number the lab assigned to the case.

3.   Click the Enclosure(s) Received search button, and then select any enclosures that were received with the lab case from the Select Enclosures dialog box.

The last case note entered appears.

4.   Do one or more of the following:

·        To view a note created on a specific date, type the date or select it from the calendar in the Note Date box.

·        To move between the notes entered for the case, click Previous or Next.

·        To enter a new case note, type or select the current date from the calendar in the Note Date box.

·        To attach a custom note, click Custom Notes.

5.   If you have received the case, under Case Status, select Receive Case.

6.   To save your changes, click OK.
