Adding postal codes

With each new patient you enter, a database is compiled of cities and their corresponding postal codes. As a result, the first time you enter a postal code in Family File, you are prompted to enter a corresponding city. When you next enter that postal code for a patient, the city and province corresponding to that postal code are filled in automatically. As you enter more patients, you will be required to enter the city and province less often.

To add a postal code

1.   When adding a new patient in the Head-of-House Information dialog box, click the PC search button.

The City Information dialog box appears.

2.   Click New.

The New City Information dialog box appears.

3.   Type the new city, province, and postal code in the appropriate fields.

4.   Click OK.

Dentrix enters the city, province, and postal code for the patient. The next time you enter patient information using the same postal code, Dentrix enters the city and province for you.
