Some insurance plans cover different plan members at varying rates according to the frequency of their dental visits. This is most commonly called an incentive plan. Dentrix is capable of handling incentive plans for dental insurance, and the setup is very similar to any other plan.
The key to creating incentive insurance plans in Dentrix is that although you can only assign a patient to two insurance plans (primary and secondary), Dentrix does not limit the number of plans that you can list a patient as a subscriber to. However, as soon as you do not attach a patient or a patient's dependent to an insurance plan, the patient will no longer be a subscriber to that plan.
For example, assume an insurance company has three plans: A, B, and C. Plan A is for patients who visit their dentist faithfully and coverage is 90%. Plan B is for patients who visit sporadically and coverage is 75%. Plan C is for patients who have not visited their dentist in 5 years and coverage is 60%. (This example is also suitable for plans that cover dependents differently from the subscriber.)
