· Configure all acquisition devices in the VixWin software on each computer that acquires images using the VixWin software bridge.
· Before installing any imaging devices or setting up the VixWin software, you must install the acquisition agent application on each computer that you use to acquire images. Please refer to Setting up the acquisition agent for instructions on downloading and installing the acquisition agent.
· VixWin Platinum v3.6.2 or later

Once the VixWin software bridge is functional, you can test it by acquiring an image.
To acquire a test 3D volume
1. In the Imaging Procedures list, click 3D Volume.
2. Select an Acquisition type.
3. In the Acquisition method for this imaging exam menu, click VixWin, and then click Proceed with Acquisition.
4. Acquire a 3D volume.
The captures 3D volume appears in Dentrix Imaging automatically after you close VixWin
If you receive a "Volume Path was not found" error message, you can troubleshoot the issue.
To troubleshoot Volume Path not found error
1. Check for an acquisition agent update. If there is an update, install it, and then try again. If the issue is still not resolved, proceed to the next step.
2. Exit the acquisition agent in the system tray.
3. In File Explorer, navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Acquisition Agent.
4. Open the Acquisition Agent.ini file in a text editor (such as Notepad).
5. Set the following parameter in the .ini file: VixWinSearchPatFolder = False.
Note: Having this parameter set to False is slower for acquisitions, but it triggers a full scan of the volume path before and after VixWin is opened and closed to check for any new volumes.
6. Save the change, and then close the text editor.
7. Double-click Acquisition Agent.exe (in the same folder as the .ini file), and then try again.
