Setting up the CARINA sensor

Dentrix Imaging supports acquiring intraoral images from the CARINA intraoral X-ray sensors on computers running the Windows operating system. Drivers for the CARINA sensor must be installed on each computer that the CARINA sensor will be connected to.

Note: Before installing the CARINA sensor, you must install the acquisition agent application on each computer that you use to acquire images. Please refer to Setting up the acquisition agent for instructions on downloading and installing the acquisition agent.

Minimum version

·        Acquisition agent v1.2.8364.x

Installing the CARINA device drivers

To set up the CARINA sensor, you must first download the drivers from https://henryscheinequipmentcatalog.com/carina.

To install the CARINA device drivers

1.   Double-click CARINA Dental Xray DS Setup.exe.

The Welcome screen appears.

2.   Click Install.

The drivers install, and the Installation Complete screen appears.

3.   Click Next.

If you must reboot your computer, the following screen appears.

4.   To reboot immediately (recommended), click Finish.

Testing

You can test the CARINA sensor by acquiring an image.

To acquire a test image

1.   In the Imaging Procedures list, click Bitewing Single Image.

2.   In the tooth selection chart, click the teeth you want to image.

3.   In the Acquisition method for this imaging exam menu, click CARINA, and then click Proceed with Acquisition.

4.   Acquire an image using the CARINA sensor.

Troubleshooting

To confirm that the CARINA sensor is loaded and recognized by Windows

1.   Connect the camera to a USB port.

2.   Open Device Manager.

3.   Expand the Dental Intraoral X-ray Sensor category, and ensure that CARINA is listed.
