Dentrix Imaging supports acquiring intraoral images from the Brasseler GEM intraoral X-ray sensors on computers running the Windows operating system. Drivers for the Brasseler GEM sensor must be installed on each computer that the GEM sensor will be connected to.
Note: Before installing the GEM sensor, you must install the acquisition agent application on each computer that you use to acquire images. Please refer to Setting up the acquisition agent for instructions on downloading and installing the acquisition agent.

To set up the GEM dental X-ray DS
1. Download the GEM sensor drivers from https://brasselerusadental.com/gemsoftware.
2. Double-click GEM Dental Xray DS Setup.exe.
The Welcome screen appears.
3. Click Install.
The drivers install, and the Installation Complete screen appears.
4. Click Next.
If you must reboot your computer, the following screen appears.
5. To reboot immediately (recommended), click Finish.
You can test the GEM sensor by acquiring an image.
To acquire a test image
1. In the Imaging Procedures list, click Bitewing Single Image.
2. In the tooth selection chart, click the teeth you want to image.
3. In the Acquisition method for this imaging exam menu, click GEM, and then click Proceed with Acquisition.
4. Acquire an image using the GEM sensor.
To troubleshoot the GEM sensor, ensure that the computer detects the sensor. Open the Device Manager, and then ensure that the device appears.
