Dentrix Imaging supports acquiring intraoral images from Polaroid Dental Imaging intraoral HDI-S and HDI-A digital X-ray sensors through the Polaroid Dental Imaging TWAIN driver. You must install the Polaroid Digital Imaging sensor drivers on each computer that you use to acquire images prior to any device installs.
Notes:
· You must install the Dentrix Imaging Acquisition Agent on each computer that will acquire images before installing any imaging device.
· If the Polaroid Dental Imaging TWAIN driver is already installed and configured, it is listed in the Intraoral Acquisition Devices list.
To set up the Polaroid Dental Imaging TWAIN source
1. Insert the Setup CD for the sensor you want to install, open the Console folder, and then double-click Setup.exe.
The InstallShield Wizard opens.
2. Click Next.
The Install to standard HomeDirectory screen appears.
3. Click Next.
The InstallShield Wizard Complete screen appears.
4. Click Finish.
5. Connect the Polaroid Dental Imaging X-ray sensor hardware to the computer.
Once you have set up the HDI-S sensor, you can test it using Dentrix Imaging Center.
To test the HDI-S sensor
1. Open Dentrix Imaging Center.
The Dentrix Imaging Center dialog box appears.
2. Click the Acquire Images tab, and then from the Imaging Procedures list, click Bitewing Single Image.
3. In the tooth selection chart, click the teeth you want to image.
4. In the Acquisition method for this imaging exam list, under TWAIN Devices, click Intraoral USB Sensor, and then click Proceed with Acquisition.
5. Confirm that Apply Enhancement is set to Not Enhanced.
Notes:
· You can only attach one Polaroid Dental Imaging X-ray sensor to the computer at a time.
· You must close the TWAIN source before changing sensors. To close the TWAIN source when it’s active, press the Escape key on your keyboard.
6. Click Finish Acquisition.
To confirm that the device driver is loaded and that the device is recognized by Windows, do the following:
1. Connect the Polaroid Dental Imaging X-ray sensor, and then open the Device Manager.
2. Click Imaging Devices, and then right-click USB Sensor Intraoral.
3. Click Properties.
Notes:
· If the device is not working properly or is not listed, the drivers are not installed properly and must be uninstalled and then re-installed.
· The physical sensor may also have a bad connection, or it is defective and not recognized by the computer.
