Checking insurance eligibility statuses for appointments

You can check the status of a patient's insurance eligibility for his or her upcoming appointment.

Note: If your practice uses the automated insurance eligibility verification feature, the statuses are updated automatically.

To check a patient's insurance eligibility for his or her appointment

·        An eligibility icon appears in the upper-right corner of an appointment if the corresponding patient has insurance coverage. The color of the icon varies according to the eligibility status of the patient's primary dental insurance; no other dental or medical plan affects the color. The meaning of the colors are as follows:

Yellow is "Not Checked" or "Reverify"

Green is "Eligible."

Red is "Not Eligible."

·        With a patient's appointment selected in the Appointment Book, right-click the eligibility icon to view the status of the patient's eligibility under each of his or her insurance plans (dental primary, secondary, and tertiary; and medical primary and secondary).

If your practice uses the automated insurance eligibility verification feature, click a dental insurance plan on the menu to view a document that contains insurance coverage information.
